Songs From The Source

CultureLab, New York City

At The Extended Reality Ensemble’s Songs From The Source Exhibition, in collaboration with Wild Tongue Productions and Circuit Solarium we curated the element of earth in our showcase “Songs From the Earth”, which comprised of three installations:

Songs From The Earth Film

In this film, we showcase spoken poems aimed to encourage connection and reconnection with the earth and immersion in natural surroundings. The poems connect the feelings we experience in our day to day with analogies and direct inspiration from the natural world. This film was shot in Japan featuring poems by poets from around the world.

Artist: Jennifer Ho (@braisedandconfused)

This physical installation created by Jennifer aims to encourage immersive natural environments in the lives we live today. She uses live materials, found household objects and wood to showcase harmony between natural and human-made environments.

Poetic Prayers for the Elements

In this interactive installation, we pay respect to the prayer flags and the natural elements they represent. We have presented poems by writers from around the world pertaining to the various elements and invite you to write your own poem and attach it to the flag.
